Membrane Development Company (MDC) is devoted to the development and marketing of advanced Nanofiltration ("NF") membranes that will improve dramatically the quality and cost effectiveness of filtration-based water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Acid, base and oxidant stability

MDC’s membrane is the only nanofiltration membrane existing today that provides a combined stability to acids, bases and oxidants,  and high rejections of salts and low molecular weight organics.

Coating a commercial ultrafiltration membrane

MDC’s method of preparing nanofiltration membranes involves coating a commercial ultrafiltration membrane with a thin and dense layer of polymer mixture followed by cross-linking.

About Us

MDC develops highly stable membranes for industrial process and waste water treatment applications. MDC’s NF membranes present high chemical stability with respect to acids, bases and oxidants with operating temperature of up to 80C.

What is Nanofiltration?

Nanofiltration is a low to moderately high pressure (typically 5-30 bar) process in which monovalent ions will pass freely through the membrane but highly charged, multivalent salts and low molecular weight organics will be rejected to a much greater degree. Typical NF applications include water softening, desalination of dyestuffs, acid and caustic recovery and color removal.
